Outbound acquisitions by Indian companies have seen a surge in the first month of 2017 after a lull for the past three years. There were only $5.3-billion worth outbound deals, against $30.8-billion inbound last year. In the previous two years, the numbers were worse. Outbound deals stood at $5 billion in 2015 and $1.7 billion in 2104.
