Ahmedabad (East) Builders' Association (ABA), which is hosting its first ever property show comprising residential and commercial properties, is aiming to cash in on the below Rs 15 lakh bracket for bookings. The three day 'Mega Property Show: A New Ahmedabad' by ABA, that will commence from February 19, 2010, is expected to see around 60,000-70,000 visitors.

"While the Gujarat Institute of Housing and Estate Developers (GIHED) used to organise an annual property show in the city, the focus and participation was more from western and more developed parts of Ahmedabad. This led to lot of housing and commercial schemes from the eastern parts being ignored by potential buyers. To primarily showcase properties from east Ahmedabad, a separate property show is being organised by ABA which will be held every year," said Babubhai Vora, president of ABA, a 786 strong builders' association.

Residential properties in the range of Rs 8 lakh to Rs 70 lakh will be displayed during the property show. "The price range is vast for categories including 1BHK, 2BHK, 3BHK, 4BHK and high rises. However, our focus during the property show will be on the below Rs 15 lakhs category because we see a huge potential for conversion there," said Vora.

Around 400-450 different residential and commercial schemes will be displayed during the property show. According to Vora, the total available area under display will span around 10,000 sq ft.

While around 60,000-70,000 visitors are expected to throng the property show, Vora is expecting the conversion rate to be 5-10 per cent in its first year. "We expect the conversion rate to rise every year," he added. The property show will feature properties from areas in the eastern parts of Ahmedabad including Narol, Naroda, Bapunagar and Vastral.
