Aban Offshore signs contract worth Rs 79 crore

Aban Offshore, a provider of oil field services for offshore exploration and production of hydrocarbons, signed a contract worth $18 million (aroud Rs 79 crore) for the deployment of the new build jack-up rig Deep Driller 7 offshore Thailand, for a period of 3 months, extendable up to 6 months.

The rig is likely to start mobilizing to the location during the second week of September, 2008.

The company’s share gained Rs 69.10 or 3.09 per cent and were trading at Rs 2,356.25 on Bombay Stock Exchange (at 11.40 a.m).
