ABB India has bagged an order worth Rs 63 crore from Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam to build a 400kV substation that will facilitate the transmission of electricity from new power generation plants being constructed in the region. The order was booked in the first quarter.
According to a company release, the Dhanonda substation is scheduled for completion in 2011 and will comprise fifteen 400kV bays and three 220kV bays as well as three 315 MVA, 400/220kV power transformers. Other key ABB products in the order include high-voltage circuit breakers, instrument transformers and PLC (power line carrier) communication equipment.
The substation will also be equipped with the latest IEC 61850 substation automation system to faciliate open communication between the numerous control and protection devices within the substation and beyond. ABB is responsible for the system engineering, civil works, supply, installation, commissioning and overall project management.
