ABB net up 21% y-o-y

Its revenue grew by 16 per cent to touch Rs 1,637.6 crore for the quarter from Rs 1415.6 crore in the same quarter last finical year.

The order book for the second quarter was of Rs 2208.6 crore, almost 11 per cent higher than Q207.

The growth was driven by orders from industrial automation and electrification for capacity expansion as well as projects to improve productivity and efficiency in the industry.

 

For the first half of the FY'09 the company's net profit at Rs 249.5 crore was up 28 per cent from Rs 195.2 crore registered for the half year ended June 30, 2007.

ABB's revenue for the first half at Rs 3,191.4 crore grew by 16 per cent from Rs 2743.2 crore.

"In the current micro-economic and geo-political scenario there is a sense of caution in the business environment.

However, demand-supply gap will drive investments and long-term growth projections of the Indian economy will remain unaffected," said Biplab Majumdar, MD ABB India.
