ABB Q2 net up 42% at Rs 43.60 cr

Power and automation technology major, ABB said its net profit rose 42.43 per cent to Rs 43.60 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005, compared with Rs 30.61 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
 
Total income increased 27.65 per cent to Rs 672.98 crore for the second quarter ended June 30, 2005 from Rs 527.17 crore in the year-ago period, the company informed the BSE.
 
"Strong macro economic fundamentals, industrial pick-up and the significant work that still remains to be done with reference to the power sector, continue to offer bright prospects for both our power and automation technologies businesses" said Ravi Uppal, vice-chairman and managing director, said
