Country's largest private ship builder ABG Shipyard today posted a 4.30% jump in its net profit at Rs 40.06 crore for the first quarter ended June 30.
The company's net profit for the April-June quarter last year was Rs 38.41 crore.
The company's total income during the quarter surged to Rs 522.60 crore from Rs 449.45 crore an year ago, showing an increase of 16.27%, a statement issued here by the company said.
It delivered four vessels in the reporting period this year while as on June 20, 2011, its total order book stood at approximately Rs 14,500 crore, it said.
The company's scrip closed 1.59% down at Rs 374.45 on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
