Korea-based Samsung Electronics today appointed Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra as the brand ambassador for its consumer electronics business in India.
The company plans to leverage Abhinav in its brand advertising as well as product advertising for consumer electronics. In line with its thrust on introducing innovative and consumer oriented, products, Samsung will unveil its first product ad campaign with Abhinav Bindra for LCD TVs.
Commencing this weekend, Samsung India will be rolling out a pan India print, outdoor campaign featuring Bindra. The TV campaign will be released in the following week.
"With Abhinav Bindra as our brand ambassador, our strong, differentiated product lineup and our enhanced distribution reach, I am confident that we will further strengthen our position in the Indian market,” R Zutshi, deputy managing director, Samsung India Electronics said.
Samsung currently has four LCD TV Series in the Indian market with models ranging between 22” to 70” screen size, priced between Rs 19,000 and Rs 24 lakh. The company expects to achieve a 45 per cent market share in the end of the year.
