ACC, Ambuja post higher sales despite monsoon

Despite monsoon, leading cement companies have reported higher sales in July, with ACC reporting over 28% rise and Ambuja recording more than 14% growth year-on-year.

Leading cement maker ACC said its July sales rose to 2 million tonne against 1.56 million tonne in the same month last year, recording a growth of 28.21%, while Ambuja Cements' sales rose to 1.7 million tonne over 1.49 million tonne, a growth of 14.09%.

ACC's production also grew up to 2.03 million tonne in July over 1.55 million tonne, the company said in a statement.

Its cumulative sales during the January-July period stood at 14.18 million tonne compared to 12.43 million tonne y-o-y, while production grew to 14.21 million tonne over 12.49 million tonne during the same period.

 

Ambuja said its production increased to 1.67 million tonne in July this year from 1.41 million tonne in the corresponding period last year. Cumulative despatches during the January-July period stood at 12.73 million tonne compared to 12.38 million tonne in the same period last year.

Ambuja's production increased to 12.46 million tonne over 12.25 million tonne in January-July period of last year. The company said the sales figures include that of clinkers.
