ACC appoints Harish Badami as CEO & MD

Until recently he was MD of Celanese India

ACC Ltd, owned by Swiss cement giant Holcim, has appointed Harish Badami as its new CEO & MD. Badami would be replacing Kuldip Kaura whose term was extended till 31 December, 2014.

In a statement, ACC said that Kaura will demit office as CEO & MD on 13 August and appointment of Badami will be effective from the same date for next five years. Kaura will continue to be associated with ACC in the capacity of advisor to the board.

Badami, a B-Tech from IIT Mumbai and MBA from IIM Kolkata, has a 25 years of experience in the chemical industry. Till recently he was MD of Celanese India.  
 

N S Sekhsaria, chairman, ACC, said “I am sure with his (Badami's) background and rich experience he will lead ACC in the new phase of growth."

Badami said, "At this juncture, with the economy showing positive signs, I look forward to the exciting opportunity to participate in its growth."
