India's largest cement maker ACC today said its August sales have improved by a little over 7 per cent to 1.65 million tonnes as compared to the same month last year.
In August, 2008, ACC despatched 1.54 million tonnes of cement, it said in a release here.
ACC produced 1.63 million tonnes of cement in August 2009 as compared to 1.52 million tonnes in August, 2008.
ACC's total production for the first eight months of the current year ending August 31, 2009 stood at 14.48 million tonnes as against 13.83 million tonnes in the corresponding period last year.
Despatches increased by 0.63 million tonnes during the first eight months of the current year at 14.49 million tonnes as compared to 13.86 million tonnes in the same period last year.
