ACC commissions its third wind energy farm near Satara

Cement major ACC today said it has commissioned its third wind energy farm near Satara in Maharashtra.

The wind farm comprises two turbines of 1.25 Mw capacities each making a total capacity of 2.5 Mw at a cost of about Rs 13 crore, a release said here.

The Satara wind farm will be supplied through a wheeling arrangement to ACC's Thane complex and Bulk Cement Corporation (BCCI), a subsidiary of ACC located at Kalamboli near Mumbai, it said.

Wind turbine generation will satisfy 70 per cent of the electricity requirement at ACC's Thane complex and 64 per cent at BCCI Kalamboli.

 

With the commissioning of its new plant, ACC now has a total wind power capacity of 19 Mw, the release added.
