The company has deployed mocap equipment from US-based Motion Analysis Corporation.

Company officials said the studio that has come up at the Kinfra Film and Video Park in the suburbs is the first animation studio in the country to use motion analysis technique.

Motion Analysis Corporation has provided Accel with real-time full-body, face and hands motion capture.

Accel aims to extend its services to the whole animation and VFX industry in India. The mocap studio has already started working on a full-length animation feature film.

The studio facility covers an area of more than 20,000 sft and houses around 100 networked graphic workstations, high-end graphic cards, among others.

Accel Transmatic is a BSE-listed firm, which operates through four strategic business units - Transmatic Systems, Ushus Technologies, Accel Animation Studios and Accel IT Academy.

The company is also planning to expand the strength of its animation division from the current 50 animators to 150 in the next 12 months. It had recently set up Accel North America Inc, a wholly-owned arm in California.
