City-based Accentia Technologies, a player in the healthcare receivables cycle management (HRCM) segment, has firmed up measures to acquire a few functional companies in various cities in India.
Pradeep Viswambharan, CEO, Accentia Technologies, said the company, which has been on the growth path during the past few years, plans to buy out a few more functional companies so as to take its employee strength to 10,000 by 2010. “The HRCM space is one of the few zones in information technology, which have not been affected by the current economic depression in the US. While expenditure on other accounts can be postponed or given up, healthcare is one area where the social security-conscious US gives priority, as is evidenced by the increasing numbers of contracts coming our way these days,” he added.
Accentia had, in April, taken over New Jersey-based Oak Technologies, along with its subsidiary company, Vasant Scribes, operating from Hyderabad, for close to $4 million. The BSE-listed company’s earnings per share grew 389 per cent in 2007-08 over the previous year.
Meanwhile, the company has expanded its India presence by opening two new offices – one each in Thiruvananthapuram and Hyderabad. The Thiruvananthapuram facility is its second in Technopark and has a seating capacity of 400.
The Hyderabad facility is its fourth in the Andhra Pradesh capital and is housed in is own building. With the addition of the new units, the employee strength has gone up to 3,000-plus, he said.
