Acer sees huge opportunity in healthcare, segment

The co said increasing e-commerce business can be used as an opportunity both as a channel partner and as a customer

PC manufacturer Acer said the company sees healthcare and e-commerce as a opportunity for growth in India. The company which aims a growth of around 20 per cent in the market said BFSI, government and education are also an opportunity.

S Rajendran, Chief Marketing Officer, Acer India, said, “We see healthcare as an opportunity in India for growth. The penetration of technology in this sector is slowly increasing and as the technology adoption increases we believe that our products and solution can offer better value in this segment.”

Acer also said the increasing e-commerce business can be used as an opportunity both as a channel partner and as a customer. “E-commerce vendors use large amount of IT to run their back office which give us an opportunity and can also use that as channel opportunity for our sales,” he said.

The company which has got a significant presence in the government, education and BFSI said, these markets are growing and there are many more opportunities. The government's plans to spend more money for e-governance initiatives and proposed e-service bill can boost the numbers of the PC vendors in the country.

Acer has already partnered states like Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Goa, Madhya Pradesh among others for Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA).

“We also believe that BFSI and SMB also offer as some business. We believe that as we win more BFSI customers both in public and private sector the sales of our net books also will surge. In emerging markets like India net books will see tremendous growth,” Rajendran added.

As part of Acer’s strategy to strengthen its after-sales support, the company has also opened its service lounge in cities like Bangalore and New Delhi. Through this the company aims to provide a better sales and services to its customer. By the end of March 2013, the company plans to open three more service lounge in Pune, Mumbai and Lucknow.
