In a bid to expand its activities in the South Indian music industry, Bangalore-based Acethetik.com is in talks with two television channels in Kerala to enter into a content-sharing agreement.

Talking to Business Standard, N P Rajasekharan, the brain behind the portal, said Acethetik planned to take original music content, which is the unique selling proposition of his venture, to Kerala audiences through the medium of television.

"We are currently in discussions with two Malayalam TV channels to share our exclusive music content with them. If the talks materialise, the audiences would soon see our branded music in the form of visual content," Rajasekharan said, stopping short of naming the two television channels.

He, however, added that the deals, if they come through, would be on a revenue-sharing basis.

On Acethetik artists are provided a platform to upload their creations free-of-cost. The portal hosts music, literature and art creations by any artist, with the only condition being that whatever is submitted has to be original and exclusive for Acethetik.

Rajasekharan said the portal has identified three sources for revenue generation "" paid downloads, mobile phone gateways and advertisement clips by sponsors.

Besides, value-added features such as blogs are expected to help in bringing in more audiences.

"The artists who display their work on Acethetik.com stand to benefit much by submitting their works on the site. If an art enthusiast buys the work at a cost of Rs 10 per work, Rs 6 goes to the artist and the rest to Acethetik. This means the artist gains 60 per cent of the sale amount," Rajasekharan said.
