Adani owned Dhamra port breaks even after six years, posts Rs 180 cr profit

Revenues driven by stellar cargo volumes in FY17, overall cargo handling up 47% to 21 mn tonnes

Dhamra, a deep-draught port off the coast of north Odisha owned by Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has turned profitable after nearly six years. The port had kicked off commercial operations in May 2011.

A senior Odisha government official said, the port has achieved break even with a profit of Rs 180 crore in 2016-17. Dhamra port’s total earnings crossed Rs 900 crore in the last financial year with the port paying Rs 75 crore as revenue share to the state government.
