Adani Power Q1 net up 55% to Rs 177 cr

Adani Power today posted a whopping 54% jump in its net profit at Rs 176.85 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011.

The company had reported a net profit of Rs 114.47 crore during the same quarter of the last financial year, Adani Power said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Net Sales of the company witnessed more than a two-fold jump at Rs 818.66 crore as against Rs 353.08 crore in the corresponding period of previous fiscal (2010-11).

During the quarter, Adani Power commissioned the second 660 MW super-critical power generation unit at its Mundra project in Gujarat.

 

The company currently generates 1,320 MW of electricity and plans to raise this capacity to 4,620 MW by the end of this fiscal (2011-12).

Shares of Adani Power were trading at Rs 96, down 4.95% on the BSE.
