The Adani Group has renewed its efforts to set up a port and port-based industrial cluster, along with a thermal power project, in Andhra Pradesh.
It had earlier sought 50,000 acres of land in two phases, but the state government asked it to come up with a realistic requirement. The group proposed to invest Rs 25,000 crore in the projects. A company delegation met chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday with a revised proposal for land, sources told Business Standard.
While the chief minister’s office refused to comment on the outcome of the meeting, a senior government official said Adani had brought down the land requirement to 10,000 acres. A company spokesperson said such meetings were routine.
