Adhunik Power and Natural Resources (APNRL),a unit of Adhunik Group of Companies, today said it will set up a super thermal power plant in Jharkhand following the completion of the first project of 4x270 MW at Padampur in Saraikela-Kharswan district.
"The proposal was submitted to the Jharkhand government about eight months ago. We are looking forward to sign a Memorandum of Understanding," Naresh Goyal, Senior Vice-President and Plant Head in Jharkhand told reporters today.
He said the company has been searching for land in the state as the setting up of the plant in the ongoing project was not possible owing to non-availability of land.
Goyal said APNRL has proposal to enhance its capacity and plan to set up an additional over 1000 MW (2x660 MW) plant after the completion of the ongoing project of 4x270 MW (total 1080 MW) plant in Padampur in Kandra, about 25 kms from here.
Referring to the ongoing project, he said the first unit of the ongoing project will be commissioned in the first quarter of 2012 and work was going on fast track to meet the deadline.
The first unit of 4x270 MW plant will be commissioned in time may be one month here and there while the second unit is expected to be commissioned in the second quarter of the same year, Goyal said.
