After introducing an omni-channel strategy to integrate 200 of its 750 stores with shopper-friendly technology, Adidas plans to come out with a mobile application specifically developed for India. The German multinational corporation manufactures sports shoes, clothing and accessories.

According to the company, the app, which it proposes to launch in 2016, would help its franchises connect with customers online. The company, which has 500 Adidas and 250 Reebok stores, plans to increase the franchise count to 1,000 by 2018.

"The app would help customers look through our whole collection. customers can either order online (an item) and get it delivered at their homes or visit a nearest Adidas or Reebok store and purchase it from there. If a customer orders online, the nearest franchise that has the product can pick the product and deliver it," said Abhishek Lal, senior e-commerce director, Adidas India.
