Aditya Birla Group June cement despatches up 10%

The Aditya Birla Group's cement production for June 2005 grew 13.49% at 22.85 lakh metric tonne (MT) while despatches rose by 9.79% at 22.62 lakh MT, over June 2004.

The group's cement production for the period April-June this year at 72.68 lakh MT is up by 12% against 64.89 lakh MT during the corresponding period of last year, the company said in a release today.

The group's despatches at 72.18 lakh MT grew 11.24% in April-June this year against 64.88 lakh MT during corresponding period of last year, it added.

The cement production for Gujarat Ambuja Cements during June increased 10% to 10.89 lakh tonnes as compared to 9.87 lakh tonnes in the same month last fiscal, a company release said.

Despatches during the reporting month for the company increased 10% to 10.87 lakh tonnes as against 9.87 lakh tonnes in June 2004, it said.

The production for Ambuja Cement Eastern for the reporting month decreased 7% to 1.71 lakh tonnes as compared to 1.83 lakh tonnes in June 2004 while despatches decreased 7% to 1.66 lakh tonnes as compared to 1.78 lakh tonnes in the same month last fiscal, the release added.
