Aegis Global Academy (AGA) plans to set up three more Institutes of Customer Experience Management (ICEM), one each in Bhopal, Kolkata and Gurgaon over the next few years.

ICEM is the flagship course of AGA — an education venture by Aegis, the business process outsourcing arm of Essar group. It is the first-of-its-kind institute to offer an MBA equivalent programme focused solely on customer experience management and customer-centricity.

The first batch for the course, comprising 400 students, will begin classes in August 2010. The company is in talks with several MBA training institutes. The first centre is coming up in Coimbatore.

“For this first batch, the window of time that we have is less. So, we have tied up with several MBA coaching institutes. The course will be allowed for students who have appeared for entrance exams like the common entrance test (CET), MAT, GMAT, among others,” said Subir Ghosh, president of AGA.

For the general management curriculum, AGA is working with the Indian Institute of Management—Indore (IIM-I). However, for domain-specific curriculum, the company is still in talks with various industry bodies and players. “To start with we will focus on the five verticals and are working on the curriculum. For instance, we are in talks with banks and banking institutes for the banking vertical. We will also have people from the industry as part of the faculty,” added Ghosh.

In the 15-month course, a student will spend almost four months as an intern to ensure that they are ready for employment at the end of the course.
