After Delhi, Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), owner of milk brand Amul, launched its creamy milk variant called Amul Diamond in the Gujarat market today. Targeted at the customers looking for more creamy milk, Amul Diamond milk will come with a minimum of 7 per cent fat content and 9 per cent solid-not-fat (SNF).
The product is priced at Rs 22 per 500 ml pouch (Rs 44 per litre). The new variant would be made available at all Amul Parlours, Amul milk selling booths, retail outlets and Modern Format stores.
"This new product will help fill the void for consumers’ preference of having creamy milk in the premium category. This will expand the pouch milk market and attract consumers who are buying loose buffalo milk and help them shift to processed, pasteurised Amul Diamond premium full cream milk," R S Sodhi, managing director, GCMMF.
Amul milk marketed in pouches include Amul Full Cream Milk (min 6 per cent fat), Amul Shakti Standardised Milk (4.5 per cent fat), Tea Special Milk (4.5 per cent fat), Cow Milk (3.5 per cent fat), Taaza Toned Milk (3 per cent fat) and Double Toned Milk (1.5 per cent fat).
