Ahluwalia Contracts net up 52% at Rs 12.8 cr

Engineering, procurement and construction company Ahluwalia Contracts recorded a 52.21 per cent increase in profit after tax (PAT) in the first quarter of 2009 financial year, due to higher  execution of orders.

The company has posted a PAT of Rs 12.86 crore in the first quarter of FY 2009 as compared to Rs 8.45 crore in the Q1 of FY 2009. The company's total revenues went up 49.43 per cent at Rs 255.87 crore in the June quarter of FY 2009 as compared to Rs 171.23 crore the company posted in the Q1 of previous financial year.

The company's stock was trading at Rs 116, nearly 2.47 per cent higher than Thursday's close.
