Air Deccan begins Mumbai-Nagpur service

Air Deccan on Saturday introduced a flight from Mumbai to Nagpur via Nashik and back, thereby launching its 122nd flight.
 
Commenting on the service, managing director GR Gopinath said: "From a humble beginning of operating four flights a day, Air Deccan has over 122 flights today, connecting 35 destinations and airline is at present operating a modern fleet of 14 ATR-42 aircraft and five new age Airbus A 320."
 
He further added, "We are increasing our presence in Maharashtra and further want to spread our wings to Aurangabad and Pune in the coming months. A 48-seater ATR-42-500 aircraft has been deployed on this sector."
 
Union civil aviation minister Praful Patel flagged off the return flight to Mumbai via Nashik. MP Vijay Darda and Anees Ahmad, state minister for dairy development, were also present on the occasion.
