The board of Air-India has approved the acquisition of 17 new long-range aircraft over five years from 2003-04. The approval is for the acquisition of aircraft in two capacities, 250-plus seaters and above 400-plus seaters.
Of this, over 50 per cent of the new capacity will be added through the 250-plus seaters, the company said at a press conference here today.
