CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO V Thulasidas, CMD, Air-India, speaking at the induction function of a Boeing 737-800 aircraft into the Air India Express fleet said, Air India Express and Indian Airlines' low-cost arm Alliance Air will be combined into one entity which will have operations both abroad as well as domestically. This follows the merger of Air India and Indian Airlines. With today's induction, Air India Express, which is Air India's low-cost arm, now has a fleet size of 14, all Boeing 737s. The airline that started operations on April 29, 2005 with a flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Abu Dhabi, today operates 114 flights a week mainly in the Gulf sector. The airline will induct 25 aircraft over the next 1 year and expand operations to hitherto uncovered sectors, Thulasidas said. |
