"We would start the basic construction work for bangalore airport upgradation project by October, 2004," deputy managing director A Ramakrishna told reporters here at the sidelines of a CII 'Construction Summit 2004'. |
The financial closure is expected to be over by next month, he said. |
The Siemens-Zurich airport-L&T combines holds 74 per cent equity, with Siemens project venture holding the biggest chunk of 40 per cent. L&T has 17 per cent stake in the project. |
The international airport is likely to be operationalised by early 2007, Ramakrishna added. |
Once operational, the airport is expected to cater to four million passengers initially. |
