Airtel's re-charge coupons would now be available in post offices across Himachal Pradesh, after a deal signed with the postal department, said Vinod Sud, Bharti Telenet's Himachal chief, here on Sunday. |
"To start with, 300 post offices will be covered, but in a few months nearly all postal outlets will have the Airtel re-charge coupons," said Vinod Sud, Bharti Telenet state chief. |
"Himachal Pradesh has become the first state in the country to strike such a deal with the postal department, Kerala will follow," Sood told Business Standard. |
"This tie-up has brought a cutting edge mobile technology at the doorsteps of customers," he said. |
"The postal department will display glow signs and banners about the Airtel re-charge coupons and will charge a nominal sum for its services," he said. |
With 150,000 customers, Airtel is the largest provider of mobile services in the state where it started its services some eight years ago. |
"The postal department has a vast network and we always look at leveraging our infrastructure. Our association with Airtel will enhance our value proposition to our customers," said T.K.Aryavir, chief post master general, Himachal Pradesh. |
