Airtel Digital eyes 127% growth

Airtel Digital TV, the DTH service from Bharti airtel, anticipates a 127 per cent rise in its retail presence to 2,50,000 retail touch points across the country from 1,10,000 now. In January, the company became one of the fastest growing DTH companies in the world by crossing 5-million mark interms of customers with in 21 months of its national launch.

“Now, we are one of the fastest growing DTH operators in the world. To maintain this growth rate, we are planning to expand our retail touch points to 2,50,000 from 1,10,000 now,” said Sugato Banerjee, Chief Marketing Officer of Bharti Airtel’s digital TV services. The company has 1,200 channels partners in the country.

 

The company has already added more than 2.8 million subscribers this financial year. “Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, North East, West Bengal and Kerala are our biggest markets. We want to increase this through interactive offers like pay per view (PPV), special package selections, focusing on regional channels and gaming,” he added.
