Bharti Airtel launched a new channel of communication, Bubble Talk, that extends the company's tag line - Express Yourself.

Bubble Talk is a personalised voice message, and a user-friendly alternative for SMS.

Explaining that the traditional SMS is limited in usage to only 60% of the 110 million cell users as the remaining 40% don't know how to use it or are restricted by the language barrier, Mandeep Bhatia, Chief Operating Officer (Mobility), Maharashatra and Goa circle of Bharti Airtel, said: "With text-based SMS, the expression gets limited. We are catering to an unmet need by introducing another messaging medium."

Over 1.5 lakh customers tried the test service in the M&G circle over 15 days. "We recorded 25,000 SMSs every day during the test launch and expect this service to overtake the text SMS, which records over two million daily in this circle," Bhatia said.
