Leading telecommunication service provider Bharti Airtel's E-Shakti has trained around 60,000 women in Madhya Pradesh in the last 3 months.
Airtel had partnered the Government of Madhya Pradesh for ‘E-Shakti’, an initiative to create internet awareness and literacy among the women of Madhya Pradesh.
The intiative was launched on July 7, 2015 around 3 months ago.

"We are taking this programme everywhere including remote areas and the beneficiaries include women who are students, office goers, aganwadi workers etc," said Vir Inder Nath, Chief Executive Officer, Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh, Bharti Airtel.
The training aims to empower women with knowledge of internet and it will help them adopt and use of internet in their daily lives, said Vir Inder Nath.
The 1st phase of E-Shakti is being conducted across 6 districts in Madhya Pradesh – Bhopal, Dewas, Gwalior, Damoh, Dhar and Satna.
The State Government has identified the girl students from government schools and colleges and women employees of various government departments as the beneficiaries of ‘E-Shakti’ initiative.
The training includes elementary knowledge of internet, email usage, browsers, YouTube, IRCTC, state government portals and mobile apps and other daily use applications like social media.
It also throws light on the various ways to access internet and the devices required for the same. The training would be conducted in Hindi and would be aided by explanatory videos, said officials.
