Drug firm Ajanta Pharma today said its net profit rose by 84.64 per cent to Rs 21.88 crore for the quarter ended September 30, mainly on account of robust sales.
The company had posted net profit of Rs 11.85 crore in the same period last year.
Net sales rose to Rs 183.68 crore for the quarter under consideration from Rs 135.13 crore for the corresponding period previous fiscal, Ajanta Pharma said in a filing to BSE.
The company is engaged in development, manufacture and commercialisation of pharmaceutical products and has 3,500 employees worldwide, Ajanta Pharma said.
Shares of Ajanta Pharma were today trading at Rs 410.10 per scrip on BSE, up 5.96 per cent from its previous close.
