Ajanta Pharma standalone Q2 net up 18% at Rs 12 cr

Drug firm Ajanta Pharma today said its standalone net profit rose by 17.91% to Rs 11.85 crore for the quarter ended September 30.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 10.05 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2010, Ajanta Pharma said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

Its standalone net sales for the second quarter of this fiscal stood at Rs 135.12 crore as against Rs 112.50 crore for the corresponding period last fiscal.

The company said it has received one more product approval from US health regulator in the July-September period this fiscal.

 

"We have received one more product (Abbreviated New Drug Application) approval from USA this quarter. With this approval, Ajanta Pharma has two approved products for the USA," Ajanta Pharma MD Yogesh Agrawal said.

Shares of Ajanta Pharma were today trading at Rs 324 in the afternoon trade on BSE, up 0.40% from its previous close.
