Aktiva to have GMP facility at Biotech Park

 It laid a foundation stone today for the construction of the Rs 11.50 crore project. Union Bank will be funding to the extent of Rs 6 crore, while the rest is mobilised through equity, V Raja Sekhar Reddy, the executive director of Aktiva, said.

 It plans to come out with a recombinent therapeutic protein for treatment of various cancer ailments with a technical tie-up from a Italian company.

 Its R &D lab at ICICI Knowledge Park with a scientist base of 6 is currently working on three products in the segment. The company hopes to launch the products by the end of next year.
