Global telecom equipment maker Alcatel Lucent is considering moving its global services headquarters, which are currently scattered in different parts of the world, to India.
"We are considering India as a destination of moving our global services (headquarters)... And concentrate in one location. If we take that decision in weeks and months, that will entail an investment of half-a-billion dollars over the next three years," Alcatel Lucent Chief Executive Officer Ben Verwaayen said today.
Alcatel Lucent has been operating in India for the last two decades and has signed, among others, two mega managed services contracts with leading Indian carriers Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communication.
