Alfa Laval India has posted a 21% increase in net profit at Rs 78.51 crore for the year ended December 31, 2004 as against Rs 65.04 crore in FY03.

According to a release issued by the company to the BSE today, total income increased to Rs 527.96 crore from Rs 391.96 crore in the previous fiscal.

"The High Court of Judicature at Mumbai, vide its order dated February 4, 2005, has approved the scheme of amalgamation of the wholly-owned subsidiary - Skansen Engineering & Consultancy Company (Skansen) - with the company with the appointed date being April 1, 2004. Consequently, the figures for the three-months ended December 31, 2004 and for the year-ended December 31, 2004 include nine months operating results of Skansen. Hence the figures of the current quarter and the year are not comparable with the previous periods," the release added.

The board has recommended a final dividend of 100%, the release said.
