The five-day agitation by pilots of Alliance Air, which disrupted its operations in the Northeast, was called off today with almost all pilots reporting in after Calcutta High Court restrained them from staying away from duty.

"Altogether 15 pilots of the ATR-42 aircraft joined duty this evening and the rest are expected to join soon," Indian Airlines regional director Shekhar Ghosh told PTI.

Normal flights of the ATR-42 aircraft to Northeast destinations would resume from tomorrow as all pilots have been put on duty.

Ghosh said that the remaining pilots would also join very soon as they were either sick or on leave.

All 20 ATR-42 pilots of Alliance Air (AA) abstained from duty since last Monday disrupting operations to the Northeast.

After efforts to break the deadlock through dialogue failed, the AA terminated the services of two of the agitating pilots and then moved the Calcutta High Court today which restrained the pilots from staying away from duty.
