Alok Inds net up 12% to Rs 34.69 cr

Textile player Alok Industries reported 12 per cent growth in net profits at Rs 34.69 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006, as compared with Rs 31.03 crore in the same period last year. Total income for the fourth quarter was up eight per cent at Rs 409.2 crore from Rs 378.61 crore over the same period.

In its yearly performance, the company has posted a net profit of Rs 110.19 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006, up 23.5 per cent from Rs 89.25 crore in the corresponding period last year. Total income increased 15.6 per cent to Rs 1,422.4 crore from Rs 1,230.8 crore over the same corresponding period.

Suven net up 24.5% to Rs 1.42 cr

Suven Life Sciences has announced 24.5 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 1.42 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 2006 compared with Rs 1.14 crore in the previous year's corresponding quarter.

Its total income saw a rise of 39.7 per cent for the quarter at Rs 19.49 crore as against Rs 13.95 crore in the year-ago period. For the full eyar ended March 2006, the company's net profit increased by 101 per cent to Rs 7.64 crore as against Rs 3.79 crore last year.

Total income for the year was up by 36.4 per cent to Rs 82.94 crore from Rs 60.78 crore. Suven is in its final phase of filing its first investigational new drug application with the US FDA, focusing on Alzheimer's disease.

Virinchi Tech net up 17% to Rs 2.26 cr

Virinchi Technologies has announced growth of 17 per cent in net profit for the fourth quarter ended March 2006 to Rs 2.26 crore as compared with Rs 1.92 crore in the previous corresponding quarter.

Total revenues increased to Rs 6.76 crore for the quarter, 23.35 per cent higher than Rs 5.48 crore recorded in the year-ago period.

For the full year ended March 2006, net profit stood at Rs 8.54 crore, 49 per cent higher than Rs 5.72 crore in FY05. Total revenues for FY06 increased by 40 per cent to Rs 25.7 crore, as compared with Rs 18.29 crore recorded last year.
