Alstom, Assam Co & Ceat Q3 results

Alstom net up 10% to Rs 7.5 cr
 
Alstom Projects India posted 10.29 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 7.5 crore for the third quarter ended December 2005 as compared with Rs 6.8 crore for the corresponding period of the last financial year.
 
Total income has increased 53.32 per cent at Rs 293 crore for the quarter from Rs 191.1 crore in the year-ago period, the company, engaged in power and transport projects, informed the stock exchanges. The company is in the business of designing, building and servicing technologically advanced products and systems for the world's energy and transport infrastructure.
 
Assam Co full-year net up
 
Assam Company has posted a jump in net profit at Rs 11.57 crore during the year ended December 2005 as compared with Rs 2.45 crore recorded in the previous year. Gross revenue for the year went up by 12 per cent to Rs 131.14 crore from Rs 112.64 crore reported in 2004. EPS for the year stood at Rs 0.52 consequent upon a stock split effected from November 9, 2005.
 
Net profit during the quarter ended December 2005 stood at Rs 2.62 crore. Gross revenue during the quarter increased by 12 per cent to Rs 49.24 crore as against Rs 43.70 crore in the year-ago period. The company, which has recently ventured into of oil and gas, has approved raising the FII holding to 49 per cent. It has also applied to the NSE for listing of its shares.
 
Ceat net up 35% to Rs 1.54 cr
 
Ceat has reported net profit of Rs 1.54 crore, up 35.08 per cent as compared with Rs 1.14 crore reported in the previous corresponding period.
 
The company reported net sales of Rs 411 crore, a growth of 8.2 per cent compared with Rs 380 crore reported in the corresponding period of the previous year.
