Alstom T&D India, an arm of French firm Alstom, today said it has bagged a contract worth Rs 41 crore from PowerGrid Corp for setting up transmission network at Daltonganj in Jharkhand.
Alstom T&D India has been awarded a contract worth Rs 41 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited for the supply, erection and commissioning of a substation at Daltonganj, Jharkhand, an official statement said.
The equipment for the substation will be delivered from Alstom T&D India's manufacturing facilities located at Padappai (Chennai), Pallavaram (Chennai), Hosur (Tamilnadu) and Noida, it said.
"The Daltonganj substation is critical for the Eastern Grid in delivering the Eastern Regional Strengthening Scheme. We are proud to be a partner for Power Grid in building this High Voltage Substation," Rathin Basu, Managing Director, Alstom T&D India said.
Alstom T&D, which is part of Alstom Grid, had recently said that the company hopes to bag a major chunk of state-run PowerGrid Corp's proposed transmission network contracts in the next five years.
The company had also said that it expects to get business from the government's proposed initiative of connecting the Southern Grid with the National Grid.
