Alstom Projects India Ltd (APIL) a subsidiary of Alstom SA France and a global player in power generation and rail infrastructure has secured a contract worth Rs 1,000 crore from Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd (GSECL). |
Under the contract, APIL will undertake construction of the first Alstom GT26-based combined cycle power plant in India for GSECL. |
The plant will generate 370 Mw and is an extension of the existing combined cycle power plant of GSECL at Utran in Surat, Gujarat. This will add up to 10 per cent to the generation capacity of GSECL. |
Alstom will provide engineering, procurement and construction services to deliver a fully-integrated combined cycle power plant, with heat recovery steam generator, gas turbine and generator, steam turbine and generator, and DCS (Distributed Control System). |
While the Alstom's subsidiary, Alstom Projects India Ltd will be responsible for plant engineering, heat recovery steam generator and other equipment supplies along with the entire site construction of the plant amounting to Rs 500 crore. |
The power plant will be built around Alstom's world-leading GT26 gas turbine technology. The plant will be the fourth combined cycle power plant constructed by Alstom in Gujarat. |
