Amara Raja Batteries Q1 net up 95%

Industrial and automotive battery-maker Amara Raja Batteries Limited, a subsidiary of city-based Amara Raja Group, reported a 95.15 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 76.09 crore for the first quarter ended June 2012, as against Rs 38.99 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Net income during the quarter stood at Rs 693.79 crore, as against Rs 534.73 crore last year, registering a 32.22 per cent increase.
