Chennai-based Amara Raja Batteries (ARBL) has expanded its Amaron PitStop, an exclusive retail battery centre in Gujarat. The company has set up PitStops in Mehsana, Deesa and Gandhidham, thereby taking the total number of PitStops in the state to 12.

Among ARBL's other products, PitStop will also feature complete range of Amaron automotive batteries and two-wheeler batteries.  The company has adopted an aggressive, all-India expansion strategy, in an effort to tap into the huge aftermarket potential in the country. In all, ARBL has more than 130 PitStops across the country, a company release stated.

"There is a tremendous potential for growth in the market, these being the first PitStops in the city of Mehsana, Deesa and Gandhidham. The Amaron PitStops have broken the traditional way of retailing automotive batteries. We have been giving our customers novel brand experience through the ambience, modern technology and attention to our customer's needs and we will continue to do so," said Rajiv A Mehta, head of sales – South Asia, Amara Raja Batteries.

Apart from PitStops, ARBL also has close to 18,000 retail outlets in the country, added Mehta.

Amara Raja Batteries, an Amara Raja-Johnson Controls company with 26 per cent equity from Johnson Controls, manufactures batteries for both industrial and automotive applications. The company is an exclusive supplier to Daimler Chrysler, Ford and Swaraj Mazda.
