American Express today said it has launched a co-branded credit card with Jet Airways that will allow its customers "the quickest way to earn free travel" with the airlines company.
The Jet Airways American Express Platinum Credit Card offers the cardholders six JPMiles (air miles offered by Jet Airways) for every Rs 100 spend. There is no limit to the number of points earned.
The credit card company claims that this is the fastest ongoing air miles earn rate with Jet Airways on all spending.
It will also reward the customers with 20,000 JPMiles and complimentary one-way base fee waiver domestic ticket on the very first charge on the card and 10,000 JPMiles for applying before December 25, 2012.
According to rough estimates, for a Delhi to London one-way air ticket or a return air ticket from Delhi to Dubai, one will normally require around 30,000 JPMiles.
The card also provides travel related benefits including complimentary American Express lounge access in Delhi and Mumbai, priority pass membership, and assistance with visa requirements.
Cardholders will also be entitled to a special five per cent discount on base fare for tickets booked on Jet Airways' websites. In addition, there is a 25 per cent base fare discount on one domestic business class companion ticket for the first year only.
They will also get 5,000 JPMiles and one complimentary one-way base fee waiver ticket on renewal of the card every year.
The other benefits include priority check-in, excess baggage allowance and special dining offers with up to 25 per cent discount on American Express SELECTS programme.
"The Jet Airways American Express Platinum Credit Card with its superior earn rate, access to airport lounges, concierge service, emergency assistance and dining offers has been designed keeping in mind the needs of today's busy travellers," Sanjay Rishi, president at American Express, said in a statement.
The card is aimed at the rapidly emerging and large segment of successful and affluent people who travel frequently and have specific spending, payment and travel needs.
"While American Express will bring in its expertise in credit cards and understanding of the affluent segment, Jet Airways' strength lies in service excellence with a wide network and making available rewarding experiences through the JetPrivilege Programme," Nikos Kardassis, chief executive officer of Jet Airways, said.
The annual fee of the card is Rs 10,000.
