Multi-national premium luggage maker, Samsonite will open exclusive company stores in smaller towns of Gujarat to increase the sales from its mass segment brand, American Tourister.
Giving details of the company's Gujarat plans, Sudip Ghose, the group marketing director of Samsonite South Asia Pvt Ltd informed that the company would sell luggage in the price range of Rs 1200 per piece to Rs 5000 per piece of American Tourister brand in smaller towns of the state.
"We are trying to capture smaller towns and in the current year, we will open exclusive company stores in small towns including Jamnagar, Vapi, Mehsana and Anand in next one year," he said.
Gujarat contributes about 5 per cent to the company's total turnover, which is expected to rise to 10 per cent in a year's time.
"This is an important market for us. Currently we have 75 stores selling American Tourister and Samsonite products. In next one year, this number will increase to 100," he added. Samsonite is a premium brand of the company.
