AMR Constructions Ltd, a Hyderabad-based construction company with interests in mining and excavation, is firming up plans to expand its operations to Indonesia. The company is in the process of forming a joint venture with a Malaysian company for coal exploration for the purpose of exporting to India and China. |
"We have identified land in Indonesia and intend to acquire 4,000 hectares for coal exploration. We are currently working out financial modalities for the Indonesian project and expect to form the JV and start operations there in the next two to three months," V Surya Sastry, group chief financial officer of AMR Constructions, told Business Standard. |
According to Sastry, the company is also planning to enter West Asia for mining. "We have been approached by a cement company having its own mines in West Asia, and expect to bag the mining contract during this year," he added. |
The 15-year-old company, which went public in 2001, achieved a turnover of Rs 285 crore in the 2007 financial year. |
