Max India Chairman Analjit Singh, named by the Ranbaxy Laboratories' promoter family in a criminal complaint over a property dispute, today alleged that the complainants were trespassing on the Aurangzeb Road property.

He accused Nimmi Singh, wife of the late Parvinder Singh, former Ranbaxy chairman, and mother of the current promoters, Malvinder and Shivinder Singh, of orchestrating the sequence of harassment that she had reported.

Analjit Singh is Parvinder Singh's younger brother. "Why would a civilised person like me assault a woman, and that too, my sister-in-law? I'll look into the possibility of suing for damages now," he said.

Reacting to Analjit, a family source on Nimmi Singh's side said, "The property is sub-judice. These statements are misleading and false."

Nimmi Singh had filed a criminal complaint yesterday alleging that 40-50 of Analjit's men had broken into her part of the house on Aurangzeb Road and had assaulted, manhandled and threatened her. The complaint was filed at the Tughlaq Road police station.

The second allegation was that Analjit had been undertaking construction on the disputed property, flouting the court's order that no such construction was to be carried out.

In a counter attack, Analjit's camp filed a criminal complaint.

The complaint was filed by Delhi Guest Houses Pvt Ltd (DGH), in which Analjit has a controlling stake.
