Anchor Electricals Private Limited (AEPL), a subsidiary of Panasonic Electric Works, is looking at increasing the eastern region's contribution to the company's total revenue by 10 per cent, this fiscal.
Speaking on the sidelines of the launch of a new range of devices, Sharad Lakhani, regional head (eastern region) of Anchor claimed that the company was eyeing a 10 per cent increase from the eastern zone to the company's total revenue.
In value terms, the eastern region had contributed approximately Rs 120 crore which was expected to be scaled to about Rs 200 crore by the end of this fiscal, informed Lakhani.
To further strengthen its hold in the eastern region, the company had also set up a regional office in Kolkata, to cater to the customers directly.
"With the kind of potential that the eastern region holds, the company needs to be present directly thus bringing about a complete transparency in the customer-company relationship", stated Dinesh Agarwal, business-head of wiring devices.
The company was also looking at expanding the switches' segment by scaling up its current manufacturing capacity of about five lakh switches per day to six lakh switches per day at an investment of Rs 10 crore at its multiple factories in Bhuj, Daman and Haridwar, informed Aggarwal.
The company would also be concentrating in the light control systems like light and motion censors as well as automation devices this year, for commercial projects.

While on the other hand, it was also looking at an integrated system encompassing light control devices and automated devices like video phones, for industrial purposes, likely to be available by the end of one year, further added Aggarwal.
The company would be manufacturing eco-friendly green compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) that would be around 80 per cent energy efficient, said Sandeep Agarwal, business head (lighting).
The company had posted a turnover of Rs 1,085 crore and was looking at achieving a growth of seven per cent this fiscal. As part of its measure to beat the slowdown, the company would be focussing on coloured switches segment since there was a market for such products which was insufficiently tapped.
